Forgiveness vs. Paralysis |
| One of the most unique miracles happens in this section of scripture. 4 friends bring a paralyzed friend to Jesus for healing, while Jesus is being examined by the scribes. Jesus confronts the real problem of the man—sin before dealing with the perceived problem—not being able to walk. God has called us to deal with the real problems of people, so are we? Have we experienced God’s forgiveness? Or are we paralyzed in fear and religion? |

Powerful Start to Ministry |
| Mark jumps right into the ministry of Jesus by describing an incident with Jesus in the synagogue at Capernaum, his adopted hometown. Right away we see the cosmic battle displayed in a skirmish between God and the evil one. Jesus demonstrates to His new disciples that He was no ordinary Rabbi and that they were on the beginning of a wild ministry ride together…Jesus is still radically changing lives… |
